  • Distributed Control Systems (DCS)

    Distributed Control System (DCS) is specially designed with redundancy and diagnostic capabilities to improve control reliability and performance. It gives greater flexibility to control distributed discrete field devices and its operating stations.   • Remote Terminal Units (RTU)

    A remote terminal unit (RTU) is a multipurpose device used for remote monitoring and control of various devices and systems for automation. It is typically deployed in an industrial environment and serves a similar purpose to programmable logic circuits (PLCs) but to a higher degree. An RTU is considered a self-contained computer as it has all the basic parts that, together, define a computer: a processor, memory and storage. Because of this, it can be used as an intelligent controller or master controller for other devices that, together, automate a process such as a portion of an assembly line.

     

    RN Engineering have extensive experience and expertise with different types of RTUs including Bristol Babcock(Network 3000 and ControlWave) Scadapack and Control Microsystems products, Rosemount / Spartan RTUs and metering products; Micromotion, GC, Omni Flow computers. Our configuration activities are verified using in house commissioning checkout software.   • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

    PLCs, or programmable logic controllers, are the workhorse of any industrial automated system. PLCs are microprocessors which monitor input data from sensors and relays, and use a unique form of ladder logic to control output devices such as actuators, alarm beacons, motors, valves, etc. which perform real-world functions and makes decisions based upon a custom program to control the state of output devices.

    Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) is a system of software and hardware elements that allows industrial organizations to:

    SCADA systems are crucial for industrial organizations since they help to maintain efficiency, process data for smarter decisions, and communicate system issues to help mitigate downtime. The basic SCADA architecture begins with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or remote terminal units (RTUs). PLCs and RTUs are microcomputers that communicate with an array of objects such as factory machines, HMIs, sensors, and end devices, and then route the information from those objects to computers with SCADA software.

     

     

    Human Machine Interface (HMI), is any device or software that allows you to interact with a machine. This can be as simple and ubiquitous as the traditional single-touch display mounted on a machine or as technologically advanced as a multi-touch-enabled control panel or even connected mobile technology such as smartphones and smartwatches. Some HMIs also translate data from industrial control systems into human-readable visual representations of the systems. Through the HMI, an operator can see schematics of the systems and turn switches and pumps on or off, for example, or raise or lower temperatures. HMIs are usually deployed on Windows-based machines, communicating with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and other industrial controllers.
